Approach - Dr Paul Weston - Chiropractor

Dr Weston takes an integrated biopsychosocial approach to your health problem. As every individual is different each management programme is tailored to the individual. Initial pain relief may be followed by specific rehabilitative movement exercise and advice in order to maximise long term correction.

Chiropractors treat problems with joints, bones and muscles, and the effects they have on the nervous system. Working on all the joints of the body, concentrating particularly on the spine, they use their hands to make often gentle, specific adjustments (the chiropractic word for manipulation) to improve the efficiency of the nervous system and release the body's natural healing ability.  Chiropractic does not involve the use of any drugs or surgery

Orthotics

Research has shown that 60 to 70 % of people have abnormally functioning feet If the bones in your feet aren't properly aligned then this can cause aches and pains throughout your whole body. A prescription orthotic (shoe insert), along with chiropractic care, can help correct weaknesses relieving you from the associated pain.

Using our TOG GaitScan system we can order prescription orthotics for each foot to relieve discomfort, realign and stabilise the bones in your feet to help restore your natural walking pattern.

How does it work?

1. Scans foot
As you walk across the plate, thousands of tiny sensors capture the distribution of pressure throughout the sole of your foot over time.

2. Maps foot pressure
From your step, the computer then displays on its screen 2-D and 3-D visual representations of the pressures under your feet.

3. Creates report
The report findings help your chiropractor evaluate your foot function and determine if the symptoms you are experiencing are related to faulty foot mechanics.

4. Determines need for orthotic therapy
Using this information your chiropractor will determine your need for orthotics and they can then order, if necessary, your prescription orthotics from the lab in Canada.

Chiropractic is a primary health-care profession, so you do not need to be referred by your doctor. A chiropractor is trained to diagnose your problem and will refer you to another health-care practitioner if necessary.
